Multi Image Group Plotting to Place Logo on the Moon
Multi Image Group (MIG), the innovative creative events agency in South Florida, announced today that they would be making history by being the first company to display their logo on the moon in such a manner that it would be visible to most of Earth.
Multi Image Group has been working with a team of retired NASA engineers for over three years now to find a way for a crisp image to be projected on the moon. Other organizations have also been working on this challenge, but it appears the Multi Image Group has won the moon race by being the first to find a creative technological solution.
“The trick isn’t hitting the moon. The challenge is having an image large enough and bright enough to be clearly seen,” said Dave Hill, Senior Director of Video Technology. “We’ve been experimenting with some of our new ultra high-resolution laser video projectors in our MIG Innovation Laboratories, but we could never boost the luminance high enough to get a bright enough image.”
The big breakthrough moment came after Re-Imagine and Design lead Gabe Rojas was walking by MIG’s Chief Technical Officer, Ken Burke’s office and heard a song wafting through the air. “It was The Dark Side of the Moon and suddenly it hit me! Of course! Why try projecting on the moon’s surface when it’s full—it’s way too bright, but if we projected on the new moon, when it’s dark . . . then we could see the image clearly!”
The first lunar projection is scheduled to appear on the next new moon on Saturday, April 18th, 2015. The appearance of the MIG logo on the moon’s surface in the night sky should cause quite a sensation around the world.
“We know there will be those who might be upset with seeing this natural wonder blighted by a company logo,” said Robert Sclafani, “Haters gonna hate. But we see this as a shining testimony to our company’s innovative spirit and ingenuity and we’re confident it’s going to be bringing in a lot of new business.”
The world can only assume that there’s a good reason this spectacular announcement is coming on April Fools Day…
